Hi all

The other weekend me & the misses visited Silverstone to watch our eldest sons University Formula Student team compete. It is a international competition held annually for engineering students to build a car and compete in a series of trials. There where teams from India, Sweden, Iceland and Poland just to name a few, but this year top honors went to Cardiff Uni, with Birmingham 2nd. There are different categories with internal combustion engines making up the largest, but there was a good selection of electric cars as well.

His Uni is Sheffield Hallam "SHUR", the team is made up of 1st years to Masters students who manage the team.Their car has a KTM 500cc bike engine and the students build the rest. This year they did really well and finished a very commendable 23rd out of 75.

Hope you like them

This is a really great competition to see motor engineers of the future in action. Some really great cars and work by all the teams & a great day out.
