Yes
I captured these in our garden yesterday in the same session as the wandering aphid and barkfly nymph. I used a Sony A7ii with 2X and 1.4X teleconverters on a Laowa 2X macro lens, and a Venus Optics KX800 twin flash. The effective apertures for these were probably around the range of f/90 to f/128.

The raw files were converted using a preset in PhotoLab, followed by image-specific adjustments in Lightroom and output sharpening and noise reduction in DeNoise AI.

These images are taken from this album at Flickr, which contains 1300 pixel high versions of the images.

Another excellent set Nick (y)

No. 4 & 5 look like some type of wasp, stunning shots all of them.

Hi Nick,
If you want I can post the shots of the (I think wasp) and try get a ID ?
If you let me copy them?

I think it would be better if you did not choose the same color of the subject with the background

I didn't get to choose the background or the background colour. Shooting in the field without disturbing the subjects you get what you get, subject only to the angles of attack that are available, and they are subject to DOF and compositional considerations.

Pretty sure that it was the little critters that chose the backgrounds - as often happens, they chose to be on things that save them being an obvious target for bigger critters :)

Once again you never fail to deliver- excellent set Nick :)

Of course Graham. Feel free, any time. Thanks.
Hi Nick,
Not a name I have heard of before but its a
Basalys sp. male. (Male because of the No. of segments on the antennae)

Thanks Graham. Goodness me, this identification stuff is specialised. I just looked at (read? No, glanced at. The identification stuff is much too technical for me to understand) this book from the Royal Entomological Society.
