I spotted a few frog-hoppers on a small patch of soil and the surrounding area up against the side of the house. The first must be a little older - the other one perhaps not long grown up from it's days in cuckoo spit - it is still green...

Excellent shots Paul(y) Love the hopper but these are leafhopper, #1 should be Aphrodes makarovi.

Interesting angles Paul. Is the green one an early instar (is that the word?) with its tiny (non-functional?) wings? Or is it just a different species, but adult?

Thanks Nick - it maybe an instar - there were about 4 or 5 in total, just the one that was green which I would expect would become brown in time.
