The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Yes, my X-T1 was in the same kinda packaging but never gave it a thought.

Just got in from the in laws and thought i'd see how the 23 does in low light. Coming from the 35 and 60 which were quite frankly awful in low light/tricky lighting condition, this wasn't really any different to how it focused in the daylight earlier on! Impressive! Also tried iso 6400... that'll do me nicely! My D7k/D71k looked like this at 1600. :D

No noise reduction at all, sharpening up to 30 and tried the masking slider which was set to 92.

F1.4
1/5
ISO 6400
Hand held

Excuse the subject matter. :ROFLMAO:

Sounds like a good investment! I have been impressed with the high iso on the xt1 myself. How do you find the build quality of the 23?

Hi Brian. It's a very solid lump of a thing. The focus ring gives a very solid click when you pull back to disengage AF and the ring is smooth. The Aperture ring seems to offer up a better feel when moving it. The 35 i had wasn't quite as refined and would often be on f1.6/2 without me realising. The hood is huge though but i kind of like it. I won't be using it without or changing it for the smaller circular one like some people do. I will see how i get on with it over the weekend, but i may add the extra grip and see how it feels then. I added one to my E-M10 and it was a very good addition.

Finally got a chance to test the 55-200 this evening. Nothing exciting, Mrs fabs just wanted me to takes some photos of her riding so she could check her position. Must say though, impressed by the high ISO handling. ISO1600 can barely see any noise. That said, I've come from an 8 year old Sony DSLR so it was never going to be difficult to impress me!

Selling my X-T1 (shameless plug!) and reading back through this thread it's making me question my decision. I need to raise some short term cash but hopefully I can pick one up again soon enough. In the meantime, is there a cheaper alternative recommendation? Fuji or otherwise. Looking to spend around £400.

Did you wait long for your 23mm Dave? ...had one on order from DR since Tuesday but still no tracking update to say its been shipped!
seeing your shots just makes me want to try it out...i'm getting a bit impatient

I ordered Monday and recieved it yesterday morning at 10.45am via Interlink. Recieved an e-mail at 1pm saying my item was being shipped via DPD and i should recieve it by the 29th of April... Maybe i will recieve another next week... :D

Their site states it's in stock and ships within 24 hours... Which it didn't and they don't seem to update their shipping info very often. I ordered a Tamron 17-50 from them last year and was with me in less than 48 after placing the order! Having said that though, it was well packed and is absolutely brilliant. Saved me a few quid too so it's worth the wait.

Has anyone else noticed a difference when processing RAW fies between LR5 and LR6. The files in LR6 seem warmer and richer

I've said it before Chris, it's such a pity the Fuji's can't do action and keep ruining your shots ;) Love them!

A couple of great shots Chris, love the escort :)

I've made my peace with a lack of the 100-400 this year, it's fun trying to be creative with just 140mm

Just working through my static stuff, the Electronic Shutter has gone absolutely mental today, in very weird ways.

Perspective gone funny, particularly the car on the right...

Weird perspective thing at the front of the car...

I can't even begin to explain this one, it's turned it into a cartoon!

Taken hundreds with it before with no issues, I'm very steady so unlikely to be movement during capture (although I can't explain it any other way)

Meh. What lens? 56? Does the bokeh look weird also or is that normal? Looks a bit swirly like my Helios.

Yep 56, bokeh is very out of character for that middle shot.

Knew it couldn't shoot cars...

I have no idea mate, it's a weird one. Fire an email off to Fuji and see if they come up with anything. What if this had been at a wedding or for a paid event? Do they look normal on the back of the camera?

Wedding in two weeks, eeeeek! I don't tend to review my photos as I go, and it probably wouldn't have been obvious anyway (particularly that first shot which is quite subtle)
