Another from my walk, i love the tones of this. Dont think its an amazing picture but the tones look nice so i'll warm your day

Yes, I like that. Complementary tones and key sharpness.

Hello,

Not as far as I've discovered so far. I use the profoto kit and I'm assuming they are working on it at the moment. But it's a waiting game it seems.

In the meantime I'm going to look at buying some ND filters to stick on my lenses. I actually think this is a better way to shoot wider apertures in daylight anyway, but I've always gone for the quicker option of HSS in the past with Nikon kit.

Many thanks. Im sure they will get there in the end!

Liking that shot very much Neil, as you say some really lovely warm tones, and nice OOF areas.(y)

George.

 another XT or something else...... mmmmm :)

TBH the x-pro 2 is probably the nicest camera I've ever had. I really miss it and the film pre sets. So I'm thinking about camera and lens or whether to make a complete switch back. Although after missing double cash back I'm not sure if I can do it!

The Sony kit is pretty awesome though...... to be honest I am not missing the Sony and maybe you will feel the same if you switched back ........ the Fooj files and film pre-sets are really nice and generally the XT-2 feels more of a camera if that makes sense......
If you go the X-Pro 2 route you'd be better of with primes... :)

Have gone out a few times with the r2 and 35 zeiss, it's a wonderful combo. But noticed I was becoming aware that over 3k of gear was on my shoulder.

I shoot mainly primes anyway but didnt find it a problem at all using a bigger zoom on the pro 2.

I'll give it some thought over the next few days.

Pah, only £3k..... I was hauling the A7RII, Grip and FE 24-70mm f2.8 G Master....... so over £5k worth of gear hanging off my skinny shoulder  ..... hence why it never went outside lol.
Give it some thought as its not a straight forward choice to make, I spent good few weeks if not months on deciding so stick with Sony or move to Fuji.
I have yet to handle a X-Pro 2 but afraid that if I did I would get GAS attack and buy one :D lol

The pro 2 does feel a bit special, that's for sure. Very solid, especially with the grip. Not sure if it's me, but the battery on the pro 2 did seem to drain considerably quicker than my other foojs

Yeah the Fuji's do feel special and really solid :)

You know... you guys must be a different species to me. I just can't see myself ever going through these machinations, gear changes and camera fondling love ins.

Good God.

I've used plastic cameras from the days when plastic was nasty flimsy stuff, I've used metal cameras, I've used stuff in between and lenses from God knows how old to newer stuff and I see them mostly as tools and for sure I don't give a flying about badges. I say mostly as I do as an engineer type see the attraction of nicely made kit but fitness for purpose and spec come waaaaay higher on my list of priorities than gear fondling which hardly registers at all.

Anyway.

Sorry for the rude interjection... Carry On.
:D

No he would need the macro for the porn selfies.

Well for one I wouldn't be pointing it where you'd like to fantasise ;) that's one thing that stopped me watching that crap, too much fascination with the male side of it ... if you check your collection there you'll see :p

More pointless than rude I would say. If you even have a point? :/

Before I polish the medal for your hardships, maybe you can elaborate?

I used to shoot with plastic fantastic P&S film cameras, all the way through my childhood in fact. Then a bunch of slightly better plastic bridge cams before I could afford a third hand plastic dslr. I can appreciate better built, nicer gear today. But I certainly never 'fondle' anything. I also don't care who made it, once it's up to [my] standard.

GAS :D

GAS occurs in just about every hobby. Mostly for men though I've noticed, we are weaker! :D

Didn't the term originate from Guitar collectors? [originally Guitar acquisition syndrome] anyway, you'll find it with people into cars, bikes, fishing, DIY, boating, flying .....

I'm trying to tame the GAS but i've just got more for my D5100 than expected and now find myself browsing fleebay for X lens bargains! :)

I've never really had it bad for actual camera bodies, more so for lenses. Once I get a solid body, I'm good. I have no desire atm say, for the XT-2, and I don't miss my D800E at all [thought I would tbh!] - Much more about the lenses when it comes to desiring gear. Right now I'd love the 90mm F2, the 23mm F2, and the 100-400. I know I'll not have them any time soon, which annoys and frustrates me :D I curb the urges a bit by looking to old manual lenses, I also think old lenses have better character.

If I didn't have wants for those, it would be for something else I can't have anyway

I have to agree with you, I still shoot 35mm and medium format (6x6, 6x7, 6x8 and 6x9) as well as full frame and now also the XT1, but, they all have a 'purpose', and each one has a use...some clearly are incapable though depending on what I shoot...

The first two are very nice...
the 35mm seems to be a very capable lens, I'm enjoying mine.

Yeah it's a solid performer. The leaf/droplet shot was a tester on it's close focus, though heavily cropped, this lens does indeed focus quite close. making it easy to get a nice shallow DOF when desired. It's also been snappy enough on the focusing front for me, and outdoors, well, who cares about noise outside? What i would like in the newer F2 is the WR, as it does rain a lot here. Also if I wanted to venture into video, quiet AF would be useful. Otherwise I'm very happy with the 1.4
