Great Crested Grebe and chicks

Went back to one of the local lakes this morning, to see how these were doing. Last time I was there, she was sitting on the nest.
And now?

She glided around for a while, then drifted off to the reeds

with a quick glance; then gone.

Nice colours and reflections but tbh i can't get excited about the back of a bird sorry.

Apparently they carry the young on their backs for about 3 to 4 weeks, to keep them safe from predators.

#1 looks way over sharpened to me, #2 is not so good only that the Grebes face is not visible, but #3 is super. Nothing wrong with a shot like this, it is nature after all. You obviously managed to get up nice and close, great shot - def a keeper.
