Lovely [emoji4]

Nice to see you posting again Daniel, exposures on the white held well providing some nice feather detail ... pleasing images :)

As per Gramp's comments. Really good action shots especially the last one where the heron and the mallard are taking an inters in the take-off. I'd have cropped the first one right down from the top but re. my Little Grebe shots recently it just introduces noise and seemingly, softness so maybe it's better to leave them, like that first one, if the bird isn't too small in the frame.

… it's all in the dull light Roger! Thanks.

Thanks.

If taking off, one could see the splash in the water, was more coming to land.

The story is rather about birds enjoying winter than the birds themselves.
So leaving more of the scenery fitted better the purpose… just my prefe-
rence but I understand what you mean. :)

Oh yes..you're right. It's coming in. I should have realised that. I suppose the heron and mallard want to make sure it doesn't land too near them..They made me chuckle though.

The Mallard won't care much but the Egret should worry as the
Heron is a more powerful bird and a tad more aggressive.

good shots and compositions Daniel, good to see you posting again as Roger says

good shots and compositions…

The light was somehow alien…
good for Egrets but not useable with Herons I think! Thanks Bill!

Nice set of images.

It was too early that morning to witness
all the resident birds of the marsh but that
gave the four Egrets plenty of room to
perform a "ballet". Thanks Robert.

QUESTION!

How come this thread has a genetic icon on
the home page instead of a thumbnail?

Thanks, I read that but fail to understand
how to resolve the issue!

I think its to do with how the image has been loaded onto TP, If loaded say from Flickr it shows but if loaded from your own website it doesn't. Solution I'm not sure of!

Thanks Simon… :)
I will certainly not go the social media way for that!
