Nice focus on the eye; perhaps a greater dof required to get the bill also in focus to make a greater impact?

Very unusual viewpoint, I hope your lens survived the pecking! I actually like the oof beak and sharp eye, it really draws you into to what is important.

Truly superb. I prefer it with the beak slightly out of focus. Draws attention to the eye and how sharp it is.

We have three of these in our local park but they never stay still long enough to capture them. I am envious.
