While heading out for the day I was lucky enough to come across a large group of Partridge which held a few Grey Partridge in with the Red Legged.
After a bit of scramble to get into the boot without getting out of the car and disturbing the birds I managed to get a few shots before they wandered out of sight behind the hedge.

    Great pic.

I often walk through Checkley. Not seen a grey there for a while now, mostly red legs and pheasants. It's good area for birding, where were they, on the bend by the farm?

The frost pops up the bird's colours very well! :)

I see, Tim, on the linked enlargement, that there is a front focus
    issue here.

I read in your profile that you are a Canon user and I don't know
much about those but find out if an AF Fine Tune is possible on
    your bodies.

There were a couple of Greys in with a large group of Red Legs around the entrance to the EWH Moore Partnership.

Cheers Tim, I'll have a look next week. There were a few red legs on mill lane last week by the pheasant farm.
