Wild Hare at Rest

That's a great photo Paul. One question I do have to ask is given that the hare's ears are flattened, did it realise you were there or is that natural behaviour?

Thanks for looking David

Yes it knew I was there, from what I have read about them, having their ears back simply means they are alert.
They soon accept your presence, I have often sat just a few yards away from them, sometimes for over an hour, some will up and run off as they watch you approach (using my car as a hide) but some don't, when they realise you aren't threatening they often just go back to sleep. (which doesn't make for good photo's)

For me those ears back means fella is relaxed, but they are not flattened, which would mean he is aware of Paul and feeling some form of threat.to me those ears say he's aware of Paul and completely chilled . Ears up for alert, tis interesting Paul that's how I ready hares, their ears :).........but I have read up,this is from the field as it were

Cracking image again mate keep them coming
