harry flatters rally

Hi Wayne,

You'll get a much better response if you BB code post them into the thread, fella. I did pop onto the flickr page though as I have 15 minutes.

What I do like about them:
The first shot (blue escort) and the B&W image are the best (for me) in that set. They look pretty good though its a phone camera so you're not going to get sharp, well focussed images but I do like them, lots. The processing suits the age of the car models.

I'm not a fan of seeing spectators in images unless they're open mouthed or jumping in a hedge because a car is hurtling towards them, they're too distracting and again, with a phone camera, you can't do panning (unless long exposure's can be done with the iPhone? which I dont know as I dont own one but if you can do long exposures (1/60th or so) they'd be good to take so the spectators can be blurred into the background and it gives the cars motion. So those one's look more like snapshots, but the plus point is, you've timed the images well.

What you have shown is that phone camera's can be quite capable if in the right hands and its nice to see they're not all blurred from motion etc.. I think you've done a nice job , with the equipment you have in hand (im not demeaning the iPhone or any other phone camera btw) and if you have a DSLR and this was a challenge to yourself to see what you can do with one, then good on you (y), I think we all need to get out some basic camera equipment now and again to see what we can do i.e. test our skills at <taking> photographs rather than leaving the camera and fancy lens do all the work.

If you don't have a DSLR and its something you want to go down the route of doing, I think you should, because if these are what you can take with a phone camera, you will have much more fun with a DSLR and get some proper amazing photographs.

Well done you :)
