Help with ID.

Trying to handhold so upped ISO to keep shutter speed up.This macro is hard work without a tripod.

I'd say it was a muscid fly Harry - but if you have a flash gun, you could easily shoot at 1/200sec at ISO 200 or better at f/11.

I have a flash but it was heavy enough without it Thanks for the ID. , surprised how many different insects were on the same plant.

Think it's a Tachinid rather than a muscid and seems to be a close match to Tachina Fera:

I'm no expert though, and there are a lot of very similar looking species.

I think it is one of the Tachina flies not sure exactly which one. It is similar to one I found earlier in the year.

I only know it looks like it's whistling

Not sure what type of Fly- it's just a tad under exposed - nice shot though

I added some exposure in Photoshop- hope you don't mind?
