Hi,

Just purchased a new monitor that's meant to run at 1440 with my nvidia card but it only working at 1080

Any ideas how i can get it running at 14400 ? - i've tried searching for a new driver but it just keeps the generic PnP monitor in place.

I'm connecting over HDMI

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers,
Mike.

It may not support 1440 over HDMI

If you can try it with the DVI-I cable it should rule that in/out, your GPU has a DVI-I output so can def support that res over that

Just checked and the monitor has an HDMI 2 interface so that should be ok

could be the GPU that is <1.4

Final edit I promise :)

Looks like it is the HDMI version on the GPU

Not sure if this gives any more info ? - also read the cable could be the issue if not HDMI 2.0 ?

If a fix unavailable anyone recommend a cheap 1440 low form card i could try instead with a spec no worse that the GT620?

Yeah the HDMI cable will need to be above 1.4, but so will the output on the GPU

The card will def support 1440, and so can the monitor, so it's just case of getting the right cables to link them up

Well the cable seems fine as well.......how can i check output on GPU ?

No DVI on monitor so do i need "Would it not be cheaper to get a dual link DVI to HDMI adapter?" (from your earlier thread posted)

Purchased one for a couple of quid - if that doesnt work will try and new graphics card

I've downloaded the onlyt Acer drive for this monitor, only for Win 8.

Tried doing a manual driver install but it say's using the best driver for the monitor which is the PnP one.
