Heron with a fish, hiding in the trees (now includes seagull)

My first "action" shot. There was a heron hunting for fish in the river, it caught one then ran quickly into the trees with it. So I go running after it lol, then I tried to get a photo but the camera kept auto-focussing on the trees, so had to quickly switch to manual focus. Somehow managed to get this shot, which shows him with the fish in his beak through the trees.

Sadly true, the stocks have declined at an alarming rate over the past few years and there is a shocking illegal trade in eels making millions! On the bright side, this year has seen a bumper rise in recruitment numbers

The eel catching scene was liked last time so thought I would share a seagull catching an eel in the same spot today!

Seagull flies off with the eel
