I can't help feel a little less stygian blackness would help this one, even though the figure wouldn't pop quite as much.

Unfortunately the surrounds of the Bristol Old Vic are very red and the background, if lightened, would reveal the inside of the bar area and customers.
I took the view that lightening would reveal distractions and the 'pie-crust' like yellow beret would be obscured - mono might have worked but I just preferred a little colour. :)
