How about a GULL thread ........ post your images

…at the marsh before the rain!

Taken at Pett Level a couple of weeks ago.

Nothing to do, what ever bad image they may have,
Gulls are beautifully elegant flyers!

Two years ago in Cemlyn Bay Anglesey I got this beauty, it was stunning. White-wing Black Tern. If you hear of one about, go quick.

There were some 9 Gulls over the marsh.
All on the hunt… and successful.
I did not want to illustrate the carnage…

Very good, Ben!

See if you could advantageously tone
it down a bit and correct the WB…

Thanks! Seem to remember playing around with the WB quite a bit at the time, but it does look a bit warm and bright on reflection [no pun intended...]

Gull ID has never been my forte but I believe these are both Herring Gulls.

Taken at the coast near Troon, Ayrshire, lots of them about, they like chips.

The spot is well known for waders but gulls can make interesting subjects and good panning practice too. (y)

Yes, gulls they are but are these sooc?

Dale, you'll get Mediterranean gulls at Troon in winter esp'.

Ben, I think they're first year Herring Gulls

It's a, (these are) Northern Gannet(s) - Boobies and Gannets are of the same family but now thought to be different species?

(Morus versus Sula) if you want to get into the Latin names

is Booby a "common" name for Gannets seen around the UK?
