Totally not the sort of thing I usually shoot (normally a fan of the man made stuff), but I figure living in the middle of a pine forest I ought to go and see if I can do any of it justice...

Maybe you should more of the stuff you don't like doing :D Very nice ... the kind of thing I want to do and conveniently forget the camera.
 
Particularly like the first one showing the shaft light nicely captured as it leads its way through the forest.
Notes sure of number two seems as though the photo is split in two,for me might of worked better showing photo with the bridge in the centre with the eye leading through along the path into the woodland.
Only my opinion of course.

The 'fantasy esque' one is kind of cool, I like the dreamy processing, only thing to consider is perhaps cloning in more tree leaves where the burnt highlight sits in the v of the tree.
