Here are some shots from a macro safari into my rotting wood pile
I used my Olympus E-M1 mki 60mm f2.8 and STF-8 with added diffusion so no more than 1:1

It never set out as a wood pile (and it it is in a black bin) it set out as wood storage for our chimenea but when I started finding subjects in it I stopped burning it and now it just rotting wood in a bin and a great source of subjects

A wood pile could be under a bush and in fact a damp shady spot is good.
