I first saw this Gannet three days ago - it had been oiled by a Fulmar and could no longer fly (Fulmars projectile-vomit and oily and stinky liquid on to anything that gets close enough to threaten them - including our dog, lol) I telephoned the SSPCA when I saw the Gannet again yesterday right below our house. The lass that came had only been in the job for a week and was a bit nervous, so I donned safety goggles and got between the Gannet and the sea - he or she was none too pleased and gave me a few nips before I got my hands around the beak and was able to get the bird in to a box. Hopefully they will get it cleaned up and released soon.

I love these "off the wall" shots,
surprising every time! (y)

Great to see it rescued and a very interesting image ... is that you in there? :D

Great shot and I really like reflection in the eye as it gives the context of the shot - might take some thinking to get there without the notes but that makes it even better.
