Is it better to resize your image to the print size?

Yes
As the title says really, is there any advantage in resizing your image in PS to the size that you are getting printed (6 x 4, A4, A3 etc etc), or is it fine to just let the software at the other end do it for you? (referring to online print labs).

:)

Well, if you don't decide what gets cropped off, a machine will.... not a great idea!

resize before sending to printer and dont forget to output sharpen once the image is resized.

Personally I prefer to resize to the exact print dimensions so that I am in charge of the quality and can fine tune the final output.

I do the same now, that way you can set everything how you want should an image be a slightly different size to what you need

Hi Cris

I always resize to what prints I want. If you crop your image the machines would almost certainly see it differently. I then put them in folders labelled with the different sizes. I agree with check sharpening after resizing.
