We had a very clear night last week on Isle of Skye and my partner and I realised that we'd actually never seen the milky way properly when we looked up that night, it was incredible. Regardless of having a camera, we'll be sure to be looking up more often!

I quickly watched a couple minutes of YouTube to understand the 500 rule and set out to try and capture something. This was a 20 second exposure on a Nikon Z6 with the 24-70 f4 kit lens.

Fascinating , I like it . Too much light pollution where I am , else would of had a go myself . Well done .

Excellent. It might have been nice to try one with a bit of light from a torch on the trees. just to bring them out a bit?

That’s a great idea Mel. I’ve since been browsing the photos in this sub and it really makes a difference when you can get some interest in the foreground!
