Kayaking - About to hit the hole

Had a bit of time to kill while my wife was triathloning at Bala so took the kids to show them one of my old paddling haunts, the river Tryweryn. Took a few photos of a couple of guys nailing the ski slope eddies, I liked this one for the sense he was sizing up what he was about to hit. Made me think I really need to get my boat wet again soon.

love kayaking the trywern....need to get back there soon for some paddling too.....never manage to hit the ski slope eddie.

Thanks Lee - I think having been there and done that gives you a sense of where this guy's going and what he's probably thinking.

I'm with you about that eddie - takes a bit of commitment as you know what's waiting behind you if you mess up - never made it myself either but had a fair few "OMG i'm going backwards through the hole" moments as a result of trying!

Never got the little eddies in the middle, because I'm always hesitant about dropping into the stopper sideways. I've had a kicking in there more than once!
