Hello,

I've just tried with my new Nikon 55-300 VR to get some snaps of the kite surfers. Any feedback on how the photos could be improved would be great.

Well exposed, focused and straight horizons is a very good start! Just think you need some action from the surfers now getting some air, etc. When they are up in the air you will normally find you are faced with a bright background so will need to adjust exposure/change metering mode to ensure subject is suitably exposed.

Thanks for the feedback, I did get some action shots but they didn't turn out as well in my opinion. Will be back to get some more. Any advice on how to improve these action shots would really helpful. Edit just to add would you have used spot metering for the below photos?. I used the one in between spot and matrix.

Weighted metering. They are spot on. Try mixing up so close up shots with wider angle ones to get the environment.
