I love horses!
Your shots are good but though the light was harsh, your rendition should have retain
the mellow atmosphere…

Thanks Kodiak, I don't quite know what you mean though. I took these last night and processed them as soon as I woke up this morning, they are as accurate as I could make them to the light at the time. Admittedly, I prefer more contrast in my photos than less so some may have gone for a softer edit.

…you rightful freedom and privilege but
1, nature lovers will maybe not share your contrast tweaks
2, those who have seen such light conditions will recognize them
as manipulated imagery and not as photographic approach to the
rendition of a scene.

Again, your artistic intent will always prevail but…

Thanks all!

Super shots. Number 2 doesn't work for me but the rest are great

Thanks, I agree with this, I included it for variety but as a shot it would have worked so much better if they were walking into the light rather than from it.

I like the stuff in the atmosphere, the bits add to the feel of the image. I would suggest though (difficult as it is at times) to avoid having other horses in the oof areas. Try to isolate just a single animal.

Some lovely photos there. Personally I like how contrasty they are, but appreciate what Kodiak is saying.
