Yes
Has anyone tried Lanxess Pigment Ink (especially in an epson ultrachrome printer)?

Am considering getting some, but cannot find any reviews of it so am a little apprehensive!

This is the stuff i'm looking at:

...other suggestions welcomed!

Call me cynical but that is crazily cheap and I would worry about the quality of it as a pigment ink, printheads aren't cheap and lyson is well known, trusted and back thier inks if it ruins your heads, if it was me I would pay more and go with lyson.

I hear what you're saying, but it seems wrong to dismiss something for not costing enough, but probably too good to be true ...I'm surprised nobody has tried it though!

...is lyson really the only viable option in the uk for non epson pigment ink?

I'm sure there are others but I personally would use them because of the gaurantee they offer and speaking to someone the other day they did have issues with some heads getting damaged and replaced them at huge cost
I know when I was looking for compatible ink for a 9500 http://www.image-specialists.com/ got some pretty good reviews, and although in the states the ink is competively priced even after paying postage and any duty.

never heard of the ink myself - I use fotospeed ink in my R2400.

have you searched google.com for reviews?

Thanks Scraggs, i'll have a look at that, there seem to be a few more inks available in the states which sound far more convincing - ie they refer to the archival life of the print etc and offer default profiles for ink & paper combinations.

Poah - yes, i've Googled it but to no avail. Lanxess is a German chemicals company that looks respectable ...but no mention of inkjet pigment.

The other uk pigment ink provider that looked interesting to me is "picturemaster" who have ColourTec ink - which would appear to be there own brand ...so i guess is something else relabelled! They also sell roll paper which looks reasonable.

Ebay has a couple of cartridge sellers - one seller "ink-power" claims to be using Formulabs ink in them. Formulabs has some mixed reviews, but generally good - seems quite popular in the states ...but it's hard to know what's actually going to be in the carts!

...the hunt continues!

Yes if only just - its the 4000pro which prints onto 17inch roll paper ...I used to use one with work that only ever had genuine ink in it and got amazing results - but am looking (needing) to be a little bit more economical for my use!
