Lego and other Minifigures

So where's the photos of the minifigures looking at the instructions and staggering around with bricks?
Missed opportunity.:p

Toys Я Us update:
I spoke to one of their managers.
First thing tomorrow (Tuesday) the Lego discount is going up to 15%.
If a buyer hasn't been found by close of business on Wednesday night, they're going to move into final clearance mode, and what's left will be even more heavily discounted.

The Giant Lego Brick Emmet (and also the Giant Lego Brick R2D2/Yoda/Vader) are employees of Lego, not TЯU, so their boss is collecting them Wednesday.

This weekend we have snow and freezing cold returning for a few days. Just as we thought we was passed it. Lucky for us we have this kind person with their snowmobile to help us out.

Dropped in to Swindon branch this afternoon. Not that much Lego left and nearly all still at 15% discount. The one 'bargain' was Arkham Asylum at almost 30% off (£99.99 instead of £139.99)

If anyone is after something it's worth checking Smyth's prices as there's 20% off a lot of sets.

Will those flame troopers be smuggling in marshmallows to toast, while one of them keeps an eye out for the captain?

Haha you never know .... And I have a captain ;)

Skyline

I really have a good time when I pop up in your thread.

I mostly like the progression… and the panda #1295,
and other's contribution… and having a good time!

I don't know how I got in to taking photos of minifigures. It just happened. I find it as addictive as photography :D

Very cool stage light here, Paul,
and very good "mise en scène"! :)
…maybe a tad too tightly framed?

Thanks K
Framing was tricky with mount boards lol Couldn`t really expand them either.

There you go buddy…

Wow, powerful password! Funny caption. :D

Dave, in a studio setup, one controls where the light goes,
and that's cool. One should also control the shadows! In
this "street like scene", to see two sets of shadows would
not be my first option… as there is only one Sun.

Maybe considering a no shadow or directional light scenario
would be a good idea?

But this is star wars, only one sun on our planet ;)

On planet Lego there's 2 suns :D

Thanks for the light/shadow tip though. I will pay more attention when setting up.

If Darth allows me

will you now be getting your students a box of minifigures

Why not… I think there is something there.

Story telling and "mise en scène" to start with,
DoF control and even extreme focus stacking
for more… sure worth some thoughts!

Of course, in 2010, we had Ed Diment's 22ft-long USS Intrepid.

This may not be the best view of it but it is the one with my shiny bonce in the background. :D
And the 26ft-long Queen Mary from 2014.

Both models are now on board their respective full-size vessels but are shown here at their first outings at the Swindon Steam Museum.
