Some of the signs have 50 cal holes in them. Can make navigating a challenge - maps tend to be fairly basic and even major roads can change from year to year so add shot out road signs and a different alphabet (not all signs are repeated in Roman script...) to an unfamiliar car and driving position and you can see how some remote village tavernas and kafenions get any tourist business! An added complication is that there can be several villages with the same name, especially the saints - agia. Alternate spellings make life fun too.
I wish I could find the photo I took probably 30 years ago of a road in Kent that had a 30mph sign on one side of the road and a 40mph sign on the other. It looked quite funny at the time. Been back through my big box of prints and I can't find it
