I was messing about with he built in modes. These are with the black and white dynamic mode (plus some photoshop ).

this looks so much better on photobucket...i can see the point of focus but the depth of field is quite small
i am guessing hand held at a large aperture
have another go in that case and rest the camera on a support with a larger dof...aperture that is..
like the idea....i would have taken that as well
