level the background out or not?

No
Just want to get the majority view. Shooting Rugby, I have always tried to straighten the background out so the pitch looks level. However for some grounds where the slope of the pitch is more like the side of a mountain - There are a few in National League 2 South, straightening the "horizon" then makes the background buildings or pitch surrounds out of level. My view is you keep the background level ( yes, I know ideally you want a clean background but that is not always possible) and show the slope of the pitch. Thoughts?

I will look at floodlight columns, Stand uprights etc then level to those if the pitch is sloped then you will get the slope as it is and the verticals vertical (hopefully)

Yep - verticals are more important. Unless you’re shooting the horizontals at 20deg or more - then it’s ART :)
