Beginner Lightroom 4 & 5.

I'm considering buying a standalone version of LR 4 or 5, just wondered if I'll be missing out on much? I cannot justify the subscription route, and LR6 still seems over priced to me.
At the moment I use Rawtherapee and don't know if I would be better off just sticking with that.

LR6 upgrade is £65 so if you source an ultra cheap legitimate license for an older version you can upgrade all the way to 6.

I've not used rawtherapee so can't compare for you by the way.

£65 + the older versions is a bit much still.

Try and get LR5 as a minimum, a number of improvements over LR4.

Good call, it appears 4 doesn't support the d5200

Look for a second hand copy in the tp classifieds, they pop up occasionally and Adobe can transfer the licence.
