Hi,

I'm looking to buy Lightroom 6 standalone but my dad wants to go halves and use it on his machine. Can you use 1 license on 2 different machines?

I use my standalone copy on two machines; my desktop and laptop. Its my vague understanding that both machines should be owned by one person (i.e. the licensee), but I could be wrong.

There are two answers to this question......

Yes, you can install one licensed copy on two machines

BUT

You can't use them at the same time, as the license is for one user (owner of both machines).

In short, it would not be right to 'go halves' in the same way as you could not go halves on a driving license!!

Does this also apply to the standalone version too, just wondering how they would know you were using both at the same time if the internet was turned off

They wouldn't know. In just the same way as I wouldn't know if someone downloaded one of my pics and claimed it was their own.
