Some 100 years ago, limpkins were hunted almost to extinction as their feathers were sought to adorn the ladies headwear but following legal protection they have now made a fair comeback, although the previous visit to Florida we only caught a brief sighting of one at Corkscrew Swamp.

This time we were very fortunate to see quite a few at Harns Marsh
