very historic and built in 1504
the long hall at the top suffered structurally and a steel cage was inserted in the fabric to stop the sag and to esnure safety for visitors...the frame is not visible to the eye
 
I've been there a few times and must admit its a really interesting place, We had the full guided tour with all the history behind it but this was before my interest in photography.
 
There's something very nice about all the windows in the top floor.
I went there in 1969. Don't remember it and despite it being local I haven't been back. For some reason my uncle had a couple of his photos of it on the walls of his house (most photos were family-related) and I have the transparencies he did the prints from (one day I'll invesat in a slaide scanner and look through the thousands of slides filling my conservatory!).
