I am lucky to be able to photograph this Little Owl from my car.

I am using a Nikon D500 with a Nikon 200 - 500 f5.6 lens this is stil a bit too heavy for me to hand hold so I suspend the camera and lens with a bit of para cord between the grab handle and a reversed lens foot.

I find using the 152 point focus point setting works best for me.

well caught shots
great idea with the para cord (y)
i take it you can only use 152 points when there is nothing else in the scene just incase it locks onto something else ?
i also use this set up for my wildlife i have a 1.7tc nikon make but i think image quality
is not as good with it don't know if the nikon 1.4tc is the same or any better !

I have not tried convertors yet.

152 points just seems to work - but the 3D mode is all over the place.
