Critique Local river first post

My first post on the forum, trying to improve my photography. This is the small river near were I live. Please feel free to commen.

I am not a landscape photographer- Its a nice shot, maybe be better with some sunshine coming through those lovely Autumn leaves

I personally, would try early morning - the light can be quite sublime

I am mainly a landscape photographer.
I think the conditions were ideal for this type of image.
I photographed a similar type of landscape last weekend in bright sunshine and ended up deleting most of them due to bright contrasty light.
Les made a valid point regarding the soft light of early morning.

One thing though, I'd ditch the border

A very pleasant scene and not too much 'milky' even water to lose the whole concept of the water flowing ... I agree that the border does nothing to enhance the image.

I like it (but i'd also get rid of the border), it may just benefit from the foreground moss covered rock being made slightly darker, for my tastes, as it draws my eye down.

I'd definitely suggest going back there over the coming weeks and trying to get the same/similar in differing conditions, as has been said early morning light can be lovely,

Nice job, you should be really pleased with that one.
