Over the past few years watching the local Rugby team I have only sporadically taken the camera along. Every respect for the guys who do this full time, here's a few from Saturdays game any critque welcome as as really a complete beginner at this, due to the pitch alignment the sun was behind me first half and shooting into the sun second half.

First off.. your too high.. l field sports should be shot from a low level.. on a seat maybe..

Some of these are under exposed.. if our shooting into the sun then just over expose your shots or expose for the players... its more important that the subject is exposed correctly not the background

Other than that.. you ahve isolated the action.. have fronts of players and ball in picture.... so a very good first effort ticking most of the boxes :)

Agree with Kipax. Sit low but very much going the right way. Not easy as i am trying to do Rugby if i get chance so interesting to be able to compare with someone else just starting.
