1st time at the Desertmartin MX track for a race meeting. It's surrounded by lovely countryside, that would make a great backdrop, but the low cloud and murky weather meant that I was unable to use it, I'll have to wait for a another meeting on a spring/summers day. ;-)

Great shots....becoming a motocross specialist now Fran. I'm most drawn to no. 2 - every bike is doing something different and the big jump in the background.

No. 4 is good too - great viewpoint.

Nice set. Particularly like No 3. Would have panned down on No 4 I think.

Thanks Lionel, might try that the next time I'm there. :)

Nice action shots sorry I didn't go now but the weather looked pretty bad

Cheers Adrian, it was pretty gloomy and windy all day, but at least the rain kept away.

Thanks Brian.... Not yet, but it makes a nice change from circuit racing with loads of riders in each category.
No.4 was taken from half way up the hill in No.2, I got plenty of exercise with the changes in elevation, you need to be a part time goat the walk up the hills. ;-)

1 & 3 for me Fran, I like the idea in 4 but not sure if the line of riders should be on the bottom or top third ?
I must get out and try stuff like this as it looks exciting to shoot.

Thanks Paul.
Last weekend was the 3rd MX meeting that I've been to, it's very different and 'spectacular' (for the want of a better word) compared to traditional circuit racing. You could get away with using a kit lens, a 70-200 was to long for many of the locations.
The main karting & motor racing season starts this weekend over here, so I don't know when I'll be at a MX track again, it's a nice change though.

Yes once the season starts in earnest, it is hard to fit other types of motorsport in, definitely tempted to give it a go though.
