Critique Marlow Jetty

[Munkey]

was trying for a different angle on the standard pier/ jetty perspective shot. Taken on the banks of the Thames in Marlow, Bucks, UK. Only really worthwhile shot after a few frustrating walk along the side of the river.

Was 'umming and arring' about whether this could be catagorised as a landscape...

Any feedback welcome.

It's a strong, striking composition, and there's almost a face in the joining of the horizontal and upright pieces. It would be interesting to try variations of tonal range, particularly lighter, and also gently split toning a very deep blue in the shadows.

Nice work Pete. I like the desaturated look you've given it. I wonder how it would look framed with the jetty at an angle? Possible odd but might be worth a go and see if it makes the image more dynamic?

The 2 bolts by the join in the centre of the horizontal section look like eyes, and there's a suggestion of a lower face in silhouette below.
