Hi All

I got a couple of sites on the MK1 and MK2 escort. I would really like to add some of your pictures of these great cars with your permission. I can credit the images back to you and your business if you have one.

I wont be updating the sites for a good few weeks but looking to build a list of people who are regular attendees at rally events.

I am also looking for any other images of these cars, rotting in a front garden, drag racing and even period images.

If you think you can help I would be very happy to hear from you.

Thanks

James

just going by what i read :)

Hi All

Great looking community here so I thought it was about time I signed up.

I currently run a photography / image related business on-line. I am looking to expand into niche stock photography resource. I know there are hundreds of stock photo sites out there but I want to target certain niches, hopefully providing site owners with images that they are unable to obtain through the usual channels. All that is a bit of a way down the line though. For now I would like to get involved with the community see what sort of images are being take here and take if from there.

I'm especially interested at the moment in different types of image modifications and effects.

Thanks for your time

James

Hi Guys

Just to clarify and I will spill some beans as well.

My Escort sites are

MOD EDIT: Links removed as suspected Trojan
With the MK1 Escort site I have mainly gone with the creative commons license with which the images were uploaded to Flickr. My understanding of this is that the images can be used if they are credited back to the owners of the image. This I have done.

With the MK2 Escort site I have contacted each of the owners with the exception of the one on the home page. This is from Wikipedia and links to the page it is uploaded under the creative commons license.

My Escort sites are entirely different from the site I intend to sell stock photography on and the agreement between me and someone whose photos / images I may use would be on the basis per site. I know full well the agreement to use an image does not mean I can go and sell copies of it unless we agreed to that.

The site I co own with someone else which does image enhancements is www.photoclipping.co.uk my business partner in Photo Clipping has nothing to do with the Escort sites.

So hopefully that clears things up. Gary I would rather you have sent me a message to clear this up instead of posting my into post on a thread that has nothing to do with stock images or selling images. I was asking for images for my Escort sites. I'm sure most people will have the brains to work out a contract of use for the images. Appreciate your concern though.

So back to the original request. If you have any MK1 or MK2 Escort images you would like to see on either of my Escort sites with full credits back to you or your company as you see fit / decide I would be happy to talk. I can sign written contracts, agree over email, have a phone conversation or meet in person if your local to Sidcup.

I will also hopefully be attending a few events next year so if your there with you camera equipment can chat then. I'm looking to build long term contacts / friendships here that will hopefully benefit you as much as the people visiting the Escort sites.

At some stage I will be looking to extend Photo Clipping. But that's a long way off, months maybe even years.

James

I only have two photo's of a rare BDA MK1 escort worth around £50,000 that my brother in law had in his workshop to do some panel work on.
It has Tony Mason's autograph inside the boot lid !

I'm a grown bloke and I get really emotional when I see such great pics of these fine cars. At one stage when I was about 19 I owned 4 MK1's and one MK2 RS2000. I had a vision in my head that these cars would one day be worth a lot of money and really sort after classics. Unfortunately to cut a long story short I was probably a couple of years to early. This was about 2001, You could pick up a driving two door MK1 Escort for about £100 back then. My problem was storing all the cars, with lock up garages costing £50 / month they had to go. I drove around in a 1300 GT for a bit, that came to a sad end up the back of a Micra! The best one I owned was a restoration project Mexico battery in boot model. Almost the same colour as the BDA above. I see a 1600 BDA for £16,000 around the time I was dealing in the MK1 and MK2 spares. Would have been a good investment had I the storage space.

Thanks for the pics guys there are really great images. I would like to put them all on the Escort sites, just a couple of questions:

Graham with the BDA if it was being worked on at the time of photography and you let me use it on the MK1 site I dont want you or your brother in law to get into trouble. Not sure if the owner would want his car in the site? I can obviously edit the number plate so no one can id the car (apart from stickers on side) so let me know how you want to proceed with that?

Kryten shame we are at opposite ends of the country. Looks like you have a nice Escort following up there.
You have some great shots of certain models of the Escorts that I want to do an article on soon so will be in touch about using these. Should be before the new year. If I select the pics I propose to use then we can discuss over PM. Also I love the Lotus Cortina shot with the car and the phone box in colour but the rest B&W. Really nice.

Scott great looking X Pack MK2's. Would like to put these on the site (MK2) before end of the year as well. Going to be likely between day after Boxing Day and New Years Eve. Please let me know if you agree and what sort of link back you require. The choice is yours and I'm happy to comply.

Finally guys (if your still awake lol) If for any reason your want the images removed or your not happy with the link back, anything in fact let me know. I understand they are YOUR images and I am simply showing them to people who will appreciate them. If for any reason there is something that needs changing please allow me 24 - 48 hours to do so. I do try my best to get on-line everyday but my girlfriend also tries her best to stop me. I have to let her win sometimes )

Thanks again for the images posted.

I'm only too happy to promote these great cars.I have driven these cars since I passed my driving test in 1977 and am still as enthusiastic now as I was then. Although I currently own a Mk1 and Mk2 Cortina, I attend all the Scottish Old Skool Escort Events and combine my other hobby which is photography.
Always good to get a link to website www.krytenphotography.co.uk

Glad you enjoyed the photos and look forward to hearing from you.

The only one I've got online at the moment is this one, but I've got a few more on tracks as opposed to rally stages that I can upload.

If you want to display them on your sites I can send you embeddable Flash object that link through to my website (kind of like embedding a youtube video), heres an example from my blog.

James you can use those two photo's i'm sorry they're not very good, i used a Kodak compact and before i got back into photography (must have been bit lazy) lol.
If i'd have known these photo's were going to be used i'd have opened up the big door to let more light in and took loads more !, the owner of the vehicle just shows the BDA (lotus twin cam) and it's so valuable it's not entered into motorsport competition anymore.

Graham.

Thanks for the further images. I will take them all lol.

I have been offered some work for the rest of this week so will do what I can when I can to update the site although I wanted to have the site / sites updated before the start of 2010 it may now have to be within the first week of 2010 but will do my best as they need some new content to get the year off to a good start.

Talking of scary stories a quick one if I may.

I got talking to a guy who owned an 1100 MK1 which had a V8 put in and some extensive modifications. He use to race at the Custom Car street car drag series. You basically drove the car on the streets to prove it was legal then drag raced it.

He took me out in it once down the Epping New road. Long straight road trees either side, although I loved every second and it still feels like yesterday I do remember thinking that would be the last car journey that I ever took!

Right that's to much talking / writing. I am going to start doing some mods on the sites now.....

Jeremy Clarkson drives a Mk1 as seen in his DVD 'The Italian Job', taken at Lydden Hill last year.
