Monochrome portrait shots

No 1 - I don't like the fact you have cut off her chin, maybe pull back slightly for a more natural looking shot!

No 2 - Her eyes are not as sharp as they could be- I think your focus point is her veil, Shoot using manual focus and try to get her eyes pin sharp is my advice

Good effort though

Les ;)

Thank you for your help les that's one thing I don't do much manual focus

Agree with Les re the focusing (extremely difficult if using autofocus when shooting eyes through a veil).
However, I love No1, beautiful rich dark tones and smooth gradations.
I'd be tempted to (here we go on my panorama style again), take a little more off the chin and some of the hair and top veil too.
I'm just moving the image up and down on my iPad and for me, there an image in there also.

Love #1 fwiw (but then I do like what some see as odd crops ;)) tones are lovely. Agree with previous comments re focus.

Thanks for your comments and trying to help ...
No1 my wife was telling the kids to go back to bed that was that expression she was doing :)

Love them both. Ok the chin is cropped in #1 but then so is the back of her head. ;)
Agree on the focus point though. Still I wish I could achieve anything near that quality... sighhhhhhh
