It would be interesting to compare the two images directly. Enlarge the first one or reduce the second one so they're the same size, rotate them so they're in the same orientation, and equalise the brightness / contrast / white balance; and then put them alongside one another. How much more detail is there in the telescope shot?

Thanks Patrick,

First image is a single shot with the Panasonic 100-400mm lens. Struggled for a long time with the Zuiko 75-300mm...........

Next project is to try stacking a dozen shots..........
