More Black 5's

[Bristolian]

Inspired by the beautiful image of these two Black 5's in another thread I thought I'd add this image of the same engines (44871 & 45407) stopped at Filton Abbey Wood station on their way back into Bristol Temple Meads after a trip to Chester on Sunday 17 November. It was rather late - around 10pm - and the locos stopped quite a way past the end of the platform so that passengers could alight from the rear of the train. Messed up my plans

Anyway, here is the only half-decent image I got ... sorry it's not better but it was pretty impressive to see them roll through the station

I like it...it has a realism that we sometimes lose when trying to get the perfect image (well in my case anyway!).

Many thanks for the kind words. Personally, I think the image is below average and I prefer the colour version
