I reckon the first is the stoat... but more importantly - how on earth did you get that pine marten shot?? They are normally running around like Usain Bolt!

Weasle (if it is a weasle) shot is my favourite though.

Indeed it is (y)

I was there at feeding time, which helped, but as you say, you gotta be bloody quick! ( got a few more on flickr if you are interested)
"Squeaking them" sometimes grabs their attention, briefly too.

Weasle (if it is a weasle) shot is my favourite though.
Cheers Fi (y)

Dam quick to catch both the Marten and the stoat.......
You were fortunate with the adder, it was virtually hidden when I was there.

Stoat is my fave.

Thanks for dropping by Rodger (y)

The two on / in the logs are weasels image #3 is the Stoat.
It too has a muted white chest, but the tail is much longer with a black ( brown in the summer) tip.
Stoats are a good 1/3rd bigger than weasels.

Weasels always remind me of a leaf blowing in the wind as they run, stoats have a more purposeful gait.

Thanks for putting me right Chris.
I should have realised that there was no impression of size from the photos ... my attention was drawn to the face in the 1st but probably looked more different due to feeding.
Every day a school day :D

That's always tricky isn't it?

To me Weasels are cute ones and Stoats are the evil looking gits.
But I guess that's largely down to watching kids cartoons ( ...when mine were younger ... Honest :D ) and the Stoat always played the bad guy.

I think the only time I've seen a Weasel was at BWC, whereas I've seen Stoats quite a few times in the wild :)

That's a good description and they are just as difficult to focus on !!!
Love the pine marten, lovely head shot
Yeah ok as you've been kind to me recently I'll say it
NICE SET CHRIS
