Kodiak, that feather in the first post it truely captivating! Great example of how perfect a minimalistic shot can be!

All great shots kodiak, but for me the vineyard is the winner so far! Great to see this thread and please keep on adding to it =)

Thanks Steve…

I will post more of everything "design" but for
the vineyard it will be older pictures of last year
as the new growth is not yet interesting.

Here is one from yesterday…

Love this one Daniel...
that's a great one!
this one is excellent.... and looks sharp
Love the latest one, it's great looking at patterns from a wider perspective as opposed to zooming in!
Super project - really enjoying these. (and perversely the discussion on sharpness problems!)

For you, gentlemen, more from today's excursion
in the vineyards. Since the vine has not grown yet,
it is only pickets and stretched wires… and some!

Usual and welcomed visitors…

Third is great again, I like the curved track as well, makes it really pleasing to look at!

…but, later when the new growth will hide the posts
and wires, I will revisit for sure!

The later days snow is gone and Mother Nature
took back her daily wonderful routine…

Most (probably all,in fact) of the nicest patterns and designs I have ever seen have been produced by Mother Nature.
I love this series, as it shows the beauty, and the diversity of the world.
If only we took the time to look for them, these patterns are everywhere.
To capture them as they have been on this thread is a skill for sure.
Well done, and please keep them coming.

… moved by your good words, Gary, I will
certainly keep an eye open to feed this thread! :)

Once everyday, in the evening, the dam that created
the marsh in the first place, goes through a "cleaning"
procedure. What ever floats on the water, or under, at
the base of the dam is scooped up by ginormous con-
traptions to be disposed of. This generates waves in
different directions on the waters of the marsh.

As I was always eager to increase the reach
of my gear (now up to 840mm / D800E) for so
many years, I happened to realize that having
a closer look is cool but not enough.

The next step could be to have a look closer at
the subject using the same gear reach. So I got
started at aiming these 600+ mm at much nearer
targets and was seduced by what I discovered.

In this thread, I will explore the unexpected ways
Mother Nature expresses her talents through some
quite exquisite graphic
art forms. Here we go.

Love the floating feather. Beautiful.

Overwhelming clouds cover left little Sun

An interesting project and the white feather floating on rippled water is so to speak 'a classic'

I try as well to see and capture elements of the graphics of nature...I especially like the more ephemeral ones e.g. patterns in the littoral zone on beaches.

Though I do not think I have posted any anywhere. Your post should give me some inspiration to add them to my PP to do list :)

Thanks for the comment, Laurence!

In central Europe, access to the see is
not a daily ticket! I have to do with what
this here environment has to offer.

Opportunities are many but between all
the working and the parenting, time…

…in German.

Little girl:
Are you making a movie?
Photographer:
No, just taking a picture.
Little girl:
…but your camera is so big!
Photographer:
The camera is normal but the lens is bigger, yes.
Little girl:
A picture of what? … there is nobody there!
Photographer:
I'am taking a picture of Mother Nature.
Little girl:
Mothe… so you are making a portrait?
Photographer:
Yes, that's it, you're right! …a portrait of Mother Nature.
Little girl:
…but where is She? … I don't see Her!
Photographer:
Sometimes She is shy and hides in the heart of flowers.
Little girl:
…there is no flower where you are looking!
Photographer:
It is too small and too far… come, look in here.
Little girl:
…it's all green… but I see no flower
He mother, from the house:
"Laura, supper is ready!"
… and the little girl was gone.

So, this is a portrait of shy Mother Nature hiding in the heart
of a purple flower:

I some mountainous regions, one may find valleys
at great altitudes. Seasons are coming much later
there —or much earlier, like winter!

In this deeper valley, the Sun is not reaching the
ground until the third week of June and has not
direct sunlight at the end of September or so.

I see late Spring everywhere but in this valley…
