    I love these birds, not quite my favourites but up there.

    2 nice images, it looks like the light made it a challenge.

    How do you find the Mk2 noise/grain performance Russ, these look great at iso 800. I really struggled with my Mk1, it would melt above iso 640 unless I ETTR.

    - The light was a problem, I had to wait until a slight break in the cloud to illuminate the bird for each shot.
    - I did have a Mk1 for a number of years, and changed to the Mk2 once I was sure that the autofocus teething problems with the new model had been resolved. Without doubt the Mk2 is marginally superior in every respect including noise reduction at high ISO, but I also have mastered Lightroom 5 now and this helps me significantly in keeping noise at bay.

    My MK1 is particularly bad. I've gone FF now but that's another story.
