My first capture of a wild Kestrel

I have at long last got some shots from a BOP in the wild. Was walking back from a jaunt into Halifax when I spotted it on a wire further down the hill. Got to within about 35ft got a few shots of then it took flight to land in a tree, so I got some more.

Really enjoyed the pics. You get a fantastic glimpse of their pinky/orange colour when in flight.
I've been stalking Kestrels round our way for ages now and just can't get close enough with my 300mm. Although I have found a tree where a kestrel is nesting so hopefully I might get lucky in the near future.
