Hi

Can anyone confirm if the little chap below is a weaver bird?

I'm thinking it's a Tree Sparrow, although the colour and feather patterns don't look quite right so I'm not sure. You're lucky if it is as they're quite rare these days.

Very nice shot too.
 
Nah ... it's a foreigner Cedric ... :shrug: ... it is a good 'un but it might help if we know where and when it was ... :cautious:

Sorry guys, it was taken in Etosha National Park a couple of years ago.

I thought a sociable weaver - looks very similar in my guide book?
 
No, I am still pondering, as the guide book I have is a drawing rather than a photo and the bird is facing the other way.

I thought either a weaver or a sparrow? I think I am more inclined towards the former?
