The tonal range is very limted but and I like the dark feel of it but I would lighten it with a levels layer then increase the contrast to return it to being dark with more highliths. The light areas are rather grey IMO.

Thanks - I'll have a think & maybe a play. IIRC the highlight points are already at max brightness, with the split toning pulling them back down a little.
