This was my first time shooting Motorsport photography, and also my first time using another lens (rather than my 18-55mm) so let me know what you think, and what I could improve on next time :)

Full set here for anyone that wants to see some more: http://www.flickr.com/photos/danjenks/sets/72157634940745089/

Well done you on motorsport - that first image, is a winner. Pity it wasnt the actual finish line (no bloke waving a flag) but its pretty frickin close enough :)

Good shots, well done on the panning. The 1st and last images are best for panning, though the car is a little oof in that last one and 1inch higher and we would have all of the tyres captured too.

For a first time, fantastic. Looking forward to seeing more motorsports from you :)

For a first attempt at shooting motor sports these are very good! You're already panning well, which is not an easy technique and you are also clearly thinking about composition. The best advice is simply to keep practising.

Beyond that however what I would say is that there is no point in making a photo black and white if you have no reason for doing so and also, I don't like crops! Don't try to artificially make a photo good by turning it into black and white and going crazy on crops, it doesn't work. Try to get it right in the camera and if it doesn't pay off then try again! (And your last photo would probably look better in colour anyway!)

Other than that your photos are really good, so keep it up!
