My next door neighbor has noticed me out in the garden and hedges, and invited me to have a root around in his garden to see what i could find, the red backed things, i have no idea what they are, any thoughts ?

All with K3ii + 52mm ext tubes + 105mm macro + ringflash and diffuser except flying hoverfly, (no flash)

Lovely shots. I think the Beetle is a Black-headed Cardinal Beetle, Pyrochroa coccinea
and the Ant, a Red ant, Myrmica rubra

Very nice set Derek. Terrific ant shot. Tasty fly in flight. And #3 is I think a (male) Dung fly, one of my favourites - I love the composition/pose.

Sweet shots, Derek...the beetle is a Red Lily Beetle, very active in peoples gardens right now.

Normally would say underexposed ... but the tones and the styling works brilliantly and some wall hangers in there #1/4
